MERTECH TO PRESENT ITS V10 DRIVERS AT DISD 2009
On Friday, October 9, Gandalf Hernandez, VP of Product Engineering for Mertech Data Systems, will be presenting at the annual Dataflex International Software Developers (DISD) 2009 Conference.
The topic of Mertech's presentation is "Taking advantage of new features in Mertech v10 drivers."
In this presentation, Gandalf will inform and educate the audience on how to take advantage of the latest features Mertech has implemented in v10 drivers.
Mertech’s v10 drivers are a new generation of drivers designed to address performance issues due to DataFlex limitation, support for fail-over and clustering, and better handling of connection glitches. The drivers also let users take advantage of improvements in the latest releases of MS SQL, Oracle MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
Some features we will discuss are:
- Mertech’s new intelligent data fetching mechanism that significantly improves performance and reduces both network traffic and disk i/o.
- Support for fail over handling, clustering, transaction safety and recovery from a dropped connection.
- LOB handling.
- New mertech.ini file for configuring certain driver parameters along with the ability to add a connection string with encrypted password.
- Removal of .TD structure cache files while improving file open performance.
- New Embedded SQL features such as ability to use cursors with Mertech ESQL.
- Planned features for v10.1.
