MERTECH'S V10.1 DRIVERS: WHAT'S COMING?

In the first quarter of 2010, Mertech will begin to release version 10.1 drivers. The key v10.1 features that we are concentrating on for this release are centered around working in an SQL-centric environment. New features will include:

  • Allowing the SQL Server to be the master repository of schema information
  • Improved control over table and field casing
  • New Object Oriented ESQL interface
  • More scripting options, to script all migration tasks (especially important when working with Oracle DBAs, who like to see scripts)
  • Further removal of inverse keys in Oracle and PostgreSQL (newer versions of Oracle and PostgreSQL have new features that allow us to eliminate some inverse keys, which are additional columns in the database, that are for internal use.)
  • Saving multiple login connections – easier to switch between, development, test, and deployment databases.

Look for the driver releases in early 2010.
